Terms of Service
Last updated 8 October 2026
The conditions under which HelloYes provides HelloYes Alerts to alert recipients and administrators.
These terms apply to anyone who receives messages from HelloYes Alerts or who signs in to manage it. By keeping your number registered, replying to our WhatsApp number, or using the management site, you accept them.
01What the service is
HelloYes Alerts forwards automated alerts from HelloYes's monitoring systems to the WhatsApp numbers of people responsible for those systems. It is an internal operational tool, not a product offered to the public, and it is provided free of charge.
02Who may use it
- Alert recipients must be staff, contractors or partners of HelloYes who have been added by an administrator and who control the number registered.
- Administrators must be authorised by HelloYes and are responsible for everything done under their login.
- You must be at least 18 years old.
03Messages you will receive
- Alerts are automated and may arrive at any hour, including on weekends, unless you set quiet hours. Critical alerts can bypass quiet hours unless you turn that off.
- Frequency depends on the health of the systems an administrator has subscribed you to. Ask an administrator to change them; you can pause alerts or set quiet hours yourself at any time.
- You can reply STOP to pause all alerts, START to resume, and HELP for a link to your settings. We will reply to confirm.
- Standard mobile data charges from your carrier may apply. WhatsApp itself is governed by the WhatsApp Terms of Service.
04Your responsibilities
- Keep your self-service link private. Anyone who has it can change your alert settings.
- Tell an administrator if your number changes or you no longer need alerts.
- Do not forward alert content outside the organisation; it can describe the state of production systems.
- Administrators must keep their password confidential and must not share accounts.
05Acceptable use
You may not:
- Attempt to access the management site, webhooks or database without authorisation.
- Send abusive, unlawful or deliberately misleading messages to our WhatsApp number.
- Interfere with the delivery of alerts to other recipients.
06Availability and reliance
The service is provided as is. Delivery depends on WhatsApp, mobile networks and our own infrastructure, any of which may fail or be delayed. A missed or late message is possible, and the service is not a substitute for other on-call arrangements. We may change, suspend or withdraw the service at any time.
07Liability
To the extent permitted by South African law, HelloYes is not liable for any loss arising from a message that was delayed, not delivered, or delivered in error, or from reliance on the content of an alert. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
08Ending the arrangement
- You can stop receiving messages at any time by replying STOP or asking an administrator to remove you.
- We may remove any number or administrator account at our discretion, for example when someone leaves the organisation.
- Our Privacy Policy explains what happens to your information when you are removed.
09Privacy
How we handle your personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy at https://alerts.helloyes.co.za/privacy, which forms part of these terms.
10Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Questions about them go to bekithemba@helloyes.co.za. We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the current version.
