User Data Deletion

How to stop messages from HelloYes Alerts and have the information we hold about you deleted.

HelloYes Alerts does not use Facebook Login and holds no data from your Facebook or Instagram account. What we do hold is the information needed to send monitoring alerts to your WhatsApp number, described in our Privacy Policy. This page explains how to get it deleted.

  1. 01Stop messages right away

    You do not need to wait for deletion to stop receiving alerts:

    • Reply STOP to our WhatsApp number. Every alert to you is paused immediately and we send one confirmation.
    • Or open the settings link we sent you (reply HELP to get it again) and switch alerts off.

    Pausing keeps your settings so you can reply START later. Deletion, below, removes them.

  2. 02Request deletion

    1. Email bekithemba@helloyes.co.za with the subject "Delete my data" and the WhatsApp number we message you on. You can also ask the HelloYes administrator who added you.
    2. We confirm the request by sending a WhatsApp message to that number, so that only the person who controls the number can have it deleted.
    3. We delete your data within 30 days of confirming, usually the same working day, and reply to tell you it is done.

  3. 03What gets deleted

    • Your name, mobile number, on/off state, quiet hours and subscriptions.
    • Your private self-service link, which stops working.
    • Your number and the message text in our log of WhatsApp exchanges with you.
    • Your number in the alert delivery log.

    What remains is an anonymised record that an alert was sent at a given time and whether it arrived, with no way to tie it back to you. There is no backup copy of the database, so deletion is final.

  4. 04Data held by WhatsApp

    Messages between you and our number also exist in your own WhatsApp history and in Meta’s systems under the WhatsApp Privacy Policy. Deleting them there is between you and WhatsApp; delete the chat on your phone to remove your copy.

  5. 05Administrators

    Administrator accounts are removed by HelloYes when access is no longer needed. To have yours deleted, email bekithemba@helloyes.co.za from the address on the account.
